This was my inspiration for the texture.
Cups

This is my initial sketch for my cups in my final set.

This is the construction of my two cups in my final set.

After painting and addition of texture.

The final product of my cups. I am very happy with how they turned out. I like the use of colors and the use of texture really makes them pop.
Bowls

This was the original sketch for my final set of bowls.

The construction of my bowls before the texture was added.

The process of glazing and painting the bowls.

The final product of my bowls. The construction of them is very solid and sturdy. I also like the use of texture and pattern.
Plates

Original sketch of my final plates.

The construction and addition of texture to my final set of plates.

Painting before final firing.

The final product of my plates. Unfortunately I am disappointed in these plates. When I was constructing them there was a hole in my bag and they dried out before I could add any sides or stamp patterns into them. I did not have time to create new ones as time was running out in class.

My final set came together better than I expected. The consistency of the pattern throughout made the relationship between all pieces very solid. If I could go back I would change the polkadot colors and make them all black. The multicolor dots make it feel a little bit clown like. I kept the color pattern constant throughout the set, mainly using red green and blue. I like the asymmetry of the cups especially. They remind me of middle school by how freely painted they are. I like the size of the bowls, they will make great soup bowls. Overall, I am happy with my final set.
Question: When would I use this set?
Answer: I think this set would be perfect for a brunch with a good friend. We could drink coffee or tea out of the mugs. Have some pastries on the plates and maybe some oatmeal in the bowls. The brunch will be very casual.
I also think these pieces are practical enough for day to day use.
