Cups That Relate

My inspiration sketch for my cups.

The building progression of my two cups.

My cups after the first firing and painting. I used a camo inspired pattern on both cups but they contrast each other in color. I used lighter sun related colors on one of the cups and darker, earthy colors on the other.

Overall, I really liked how my cups turned out. I related these cups through a camo pattern on both cups with different colors on each cup. I was inspired by light and dark for the colors. My one cup was inspired by the sun so I used light colors like yellow, orange, red and white. On the other cup I was inspired by the earth. I used colors like green, grey and different shades of blue to portray the earth. My cups both turned out very smooth and fit perfectly in my hand. One thing I will change in my final cup set will be adding more layers of color or painting the base of the cup white first so the camo pattern stands out more. I also would like to smooth out the inside of the cup more as it has some roughness.
