My sketch for my press plates.

My photos of the building process was unfortunately deleted. This was the painting and design process of my press plates. I decided to add polkadots on plate and a heart design on the other.

Here are the stamps I used to create the texture in the plates. I didn’t end up using the stamp with circular holes in it because I didn’t like the way it looked pressed into the plate. For the one plate I used the squiggle pattern and the other I used the heart stamp.

This is the final product of my press plates. I related the two plates through the primary color of red which is used in the hearts and boarder of one plate and the large polkadots of the other. I am very happy with how they turned out. I think that my stamps turned out really well and added a good element of texture to my plates. I also liked how smooth they turned out. One thing I would like to change in my future set in the size and shape of the plates. Although I do think that the shape adds character and uniqueness they are very impractical. I will most likely end up using them for decoration. Overall, I am happy with the final result and I look forward to perfecting my final set.
